Welcome!

Welcome to 11th grade English! I am very excited to have you all in my class! This year's class will be dedicated to the study of American Literature. Over the next ten months we will have the opportunity to read some of the finest American poems/novels ever written. We will read the works of brilliant writers such as: Ernest Hemingway, Zora Neale Hurston, Tennessee Williams, William Faulkner, Emily Dickinson, J.D. Salinger, Ken Kesey, and F. Scott Fitzgerald (has anyone seen the new movie trailer for The Great Gatsby!?). Together, we will work on strengthening your reading, writing, and critical thinking skills as we explore the works of these fine artists.

This blog will be a space where we can discuss, analyze, share, and ponder about the readings that we encounter. This blog may be used formally and informally. Every Monday I will post reflection questions that coincide with your scheduled reading. I ask that you answer these questions as you read and upload them as a response to that Monday's post. This blog may also be used informally. You are welcome to use this site to post questions, share links, and provide opinions related to the readings. I check this site multiple times a day and I will promptly comment on what you post.

Consider this blog your literary home. Enjoy the stay!
